La musica de Harry Fraud

Harry Fraud is a producer from NYC. He’s behind a badass French Montana mixtape, a fucking awesome title by Curren$y and Action Bronson’s incredible Bird On A Wire. Bronsolino’s coming to Paris on December 11 at La Bellevilloise (he came ealier this year, in April, the concert was fucking great).

I’ve been listening to this song literally all day long:

NYC

A couple of years ago, Ed Banger threw a party in NYC to celebrate its 7th anniversary. All of the label’s big names were lined up: Justice, DJ Mehdi (RIP), Breakbot, Sebastian, Uffie…

In Konbini’s documentary on this party (highly recommended piece of merchandising machine beautifully worked out with good music), you listen to Mr. Oizo’s song “Z” while the “Ed Banger crew” is chilling in NYC. The music fits perfectly with the images of NYC. How New Yorker can a Parisian be? Fuck yeah.

I’m up

imup

“I’m up” the Gucci Mane has said. It’s the second opus of his “I’m up” mixtape, available for streaming here. I’m not sure whether he’s still locked up in the slammer or not. He’s probably right there smoking weed, chilling with the family. As a reminder, he recently ended up in jail after kicking out a prostitute out of his Hummer – while driving. You’re either a street nigga or you’re pussy.

Straight outta A-town, together with Lil Wayne and Chris Brown, I present you, the Gucci.  But, before you start listening, please ponder these delightful words of wisdom, rapped by Lil Wayne : “Fuck a nigga’s wife and eat the wedding cake.”

Bad boy

Sebastian, Ed Banger’s bad boy. He’s got this darkness in him. Justice are pussies compared to this guy. He’s the man. I’m going to his concert next Friday at one of the best venues in Paris, La Gaite Lyrique. I would have livetweeted the event if my fucking iPhone had not gotten stolen in Barbes. Fuckers.

This is largely my favorite song. Konbini used it in a series about Ed Banger’s 7th anniversary party at Webster Hall, NYC.Bliss. It sounds like badass metal music mixed with badass electronic music coming in some dark but cool place. Yes, it’s not an elaborate commentary on how Sebastian (formerly known as SebAstian) is badass as fuck, you’ve got to listen to this guy’s music.

On Konbini’s series you can also see he’s the man when he’s not able to get in Webster Hall with Uffie in his arms. RESPECT MAN.

Relieved

Yeah, relieved there’s still some badass music being made in France. These guys have visibly spent some time in the UK, which explains why they do not sound or look like this. That’s one hell of a video, junkies, a random English town (Manchester according to some Youtube comments…), a guy going nuts. All the stuff I love and belong in this godforsaken blog. They made this video everyone’s been talking about: Jake Gyllenhal going American Psycho in Hackney (East London). They’re playing at the Olympia in June 2012, in Paris. Would have been there if I wasn’t chilling out BACK HOME IN THE THIRD WORLD MOTHERFUCKERS!

I dropkicked a Dutch baby

The Spits. A punk band from Seattle. I discovered them thanks to the Black Lips, who posted this vid a year ago on their Facebook page. The Spits are high representatives of this blog’s motto: “Bravery and badassery” which  comes from 200 Million Thousand, a Black Lips album.

This is their hit song, I H8 PUSSIES.

Major Lazer - Get Free (feat. Amber of Dirty Projectors)

You should not expect learning anything new about Major Lazer by reading this post besides what most people vaguely know: Major Lazer is a strange act with a shirtless Jamaican dude singing frantically with a bunch of bleep blop soundmakers as a band. Big producers and musicians have worked with these guys: Diplo, Vybz Kartel. For the latter, they made this crazy ass piece of music that became huge particularly among 20-somethings Parisians with a slight tendency to smoke weed, dirty dance and listen to Drum & Bass and Dubstep hit songs all day long.

Anyhow, here’s their latest song. They’ve found the sweet spot between electronic music, jamaican influences and other First world influences. Badassness.
